Every monsoon, we see floods, landslides, cyclones, and thunderstorms on our feeds—often alongside beautiful rain aesthetics and travel reels. But when destruction appears, we scroll past it and move on.
Perhaps that is how we escape an uncomfortable reality. Yet behind every disaster are communities facing loss, displacement, and uncertainty. While we romanticize the monsoon, many are struggling to survive its increasingly extreme impacts.
Can we still dismiss climate change as a distant problem or a hoax? Maybe it’s time to stop scrolling past the warning signs and start paying attention. The monsoon is beautiful, but its changing extremes demand action.
